For Book Printing
This site provides publishers with a simple way to make PDF files that takes advantage of best practices for book printing. The File Construction and Review document is the premier source of information for planning, designing and interacting with LSC Communications for book projects. So we recommend that you become familiar with it as a first step. Once you and your designers understand its information, you should be ready to prepare your book project files. The next step is to create PDF files and so we provide you with help to do that as well.
Our recommended method for Quark and InDesign is to supply you a preset file, which you load and use. This preset takes the guess-work out of manually setting the multitude of possible PDF options. Once it is installed creating PDF files is a simple one-step process.
To install, first click the link to the left that pertains to you, either InDesign or Quark. Once you download the ZIP file, open it and follow the Read Me file to install it and learn how to use it.
If these instructions do not fit your situation, you may use the Legacy Instructions for Older Software link and it may provide the information you need. If you can't find what you need there, please contact your technical service representative and they will assist you.
